Locally sourced, sustainable firewood – ready to burn.

Every last log is sustainably sourced locally from our tree surgery service and thoroughly seasoned. We test for moisture before delivering direct to your door to aim for 100% perfect burn quality. This means when we deliver your firewood is bone dry and ready to burn.

Benefits of seasoned firewood and logs.

Seasoning is critical to quality. And drying the logs in a barn is so much better than kiln dried firewood. Freshly felled hardwood tends to have about 50% moisture content. If this burns it creates an extremely poor fire together with a lot of creosote (a cause of chimney fires and not good for the environment). We season and dry our logs thoroughly, making them 60% more energy efficient than at the time of felling.

No seasoning, no roaring fire!

We're really proud to be Ready to Burn approved!

Woodsure Ltd is the DEFRA-appointed Certification Body to administer the Ready to Burn Scheme as recognised in The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020.

Ready to Burn wood means it's been certified for immediate use. It also burns better as it has a moisture content of less than 20%, so it burns with less smoke than wetter wood. In turn, this helps reduce pollution and improve air quality.

Wet wood and house coal are the most polluting fuels used in homes. This new law will ban the sale of these fuels.

We're proud that our firewood has the Ready to Burn stamp of approval.
